The bricklaying courses we offer
On our one and two day courses, you will learn how to build simple walls with features as time allows, learning practical tips and know-how along the way. These course are ideal for someone wishing to gain an insight into the trade and would be especially suitable for someone wishing to tackle their own garden wall, barbecue, planter or other similar small project.
Our five day course offers a more in depth bricklaying experience. You will have the opportunity to build larger, more ornate pieces, practising pointing and jointing techniques and different types of brickwork . As previously mentioned, we at The Bricklaying Centre intend to tailor our courses to suit you and on our longer courses you have the option of choosing the type of module you want to build... a garden wall, a cavity wall, piers, arches, conservatory bases or any other brickwork project you have planned.
This is a practical course. All tools and safety equipment are provided. Appropriate clothing and safety boots are advisable. We keep a small supply of steel toe-capped footwear but please contact us before the start of your course to check on availability.
Above all, we want you to enjoy your course. You can go at your own pace and our friendly instructor is always on hand with advice and help. Tea breaks are frequent and compulsory! Wetheriggs Pottery has a cafe and a host of artists and craftspeople working on site. There's even a Victorian Petting Farm! Please contact us for further details.
