Your instructor is Nick Burley.
Nick has been a bricklayer for 18 years. He has a City and Guilds Advanced Craft in Brickwork and associated studies.
He has a strong interest in teaching others the skills that he has learned over the years.
Course Content Includes
- How to work safely, good working practices, and the importance of health and safety.
- Mixing and gauging bricklaying mortars.
- An explanation of the different bricklaying tools.
- The various types of bricks and their uses.
- Trowel techniques.
- How to set out and load out bricks.
- Laying bricks that are level , plumb and to the correct gauge.
- Practical exercises include building a stack of bricks, a pillar, a corner in single and double skin, cavity walling using line and pins, a barbecue / planter.
